In celebration of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, Prevention Specialist Les Thomas held a site collection at the Alcona County Commission on Aging (ACCOA) on April 24. The event was in partnership with the ACCOA’s dinner service, and the Alcona County Sherriff’s Department, who transported the collected items back to their red box collection site. Deterra Bags for home disposal of prescription medicine were also given away to the 27 seniors in attendance. The Alcona Sherriff’s Department has a 24-hour drop off site, located in the lobby of the Sherriff’s Department in Harrisville.
