Alcona Students Leading Students Members Take a Step Towards Intentional Youth Leadership

The Alcona Chapter of Students Leading Students has recently elected an executive board to help make their meetings run more smoothly.  The group, featuring many members in their second year, made the decision to elect a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a Reporter.  With this step towards intentional youth leadership, the club wants to focus on community engagement while also educating their peers on the importance of mental health, the dangers of substance use, and the negative effect of substances on a developing brain.   The group already completed one outreach at a recent football game, giving away over 75 mental health-themed t-shirts to youth, adults and participants in the game.
