Community and Youth Snowshoe Outing Was a Hit in Kalkaska!

Kalkaska is a community that embraces its natural beauty, even in the winter! This past week, 27 youth and community members joined forces with Partners Live Well Kalkaska Substance Free Coalition, Kalkaska Conservation District, and the Kalkaska Sheriff Office for a memorable snowshoeing event at Twin Birch Golf Club and Restaurant. This event, made possible by a Community Policing Grant, provided snowshoes for all who needed them, removing barriers to participation and opening up opportunities for outdoor recreation. More than just a fun outing, this event represents a powerful collaborative effort to build a healthier community. By engaging in healthy activities and experiencing the natural resources our region has to offer, we're fostering a sense of connection and promoting protective factors that contribute to well-being. These types of events create a positive community environment where relationships are strengthened, and individuals feel supported.
