Community Collaboration Brings Snowshoeing Fun to Kalkaska Students

The crisp winter air was filled with laughter last month as the Kalkaska Coalition joined forces with the Kalkaska Conservation District and the Kalkaska Sheriff's Office to lead a group of Kalkaska High School students on a snowshoeing adventure at Twin Birch Restaurant and Golf Course. For over an hour, students explored the snowy landscape, enjoying the invigorating exercise and connecting with each other and the outdoors. The outing ended with a satisfying lunch, provided by Twin Birch. Thanks to a Community Policing Grant, written in partnership between the Live Well Kalkaska Substance Free Coalition and the Kalkaska Sheriff's Office, we're excited to offer more enriching experiences like this to Kalkaska County youth and the community over the next two years.
