Networking, Learning, and Fun at the CADCA Mid-Year in Dallas, Texas

Up North Prevention provided an incredible learning experience for a group of Northeast Michigan youth from Cheboygan and Presque Isle counties in July. These youth joined with Up North Prevention Specialists on a travel adventure to Dallas, Texas for the 21st Annual Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of American (CADCA) Mid-Year Institute. The week was packed with time for both the youth and adults to meet new people from around the world, hear ideas from other youth and adult coalitions, to learn and practice strategic planning from experts and peers, and many occasions to enhance leadership skills. Opportunities for fun, local experiences such as a waterpark, aquarium, and delicious cuisine rounded out the week. We are excited to see the direction these motivated youth will take all the skills they learned to reduce underage substance misuse and abuse while making an impact in their communities!
