Students Lead the Charge for Stigma Reduction and Improved Mental Health

The Alcona Students Leading Students (SLS) Chapter recently engaged the entire middle/high school student body at a recent assembly with the message that substance use negatively affects mental health.  SLS members tossed t-shirts into the crowd with affirming mental health messages, while other members read statistics about addiction disorder and its typical emergence in teenage years.   Members also promoted the Alcona SLS chapter, highlighting the leadership summit photos from this past summer.  Finally, the presentation included an introduction to counseling resources available to students at Alcona Schools.
