Upcoming Kalkaska Youth and Family Prevention Activities

The Kalkaska Substance Free Coalition is once again partnering with the Kalkaska Conservation District to offer fun and educational activities for Kalkaska youth and families. The activities, consisting of biking, canoeing, hiking, camping, and family movie nights, educate families on healthy alternative activities to substance use, for better physical and mental health. For youth, experiencing these outdoor activities can help to build resilience by teaching lifelong skills. Kalkaska, as many other Northern Michigan counties, is rich in natural resources that are often located right in residents' back yards. The many lakes, rivers, and trails are a perfect setting for providing prevention education, teaching the community how to live well.
