Catholic Human Services/Up North Prevention is offering Prime for Life virtually this school year for any students/clients you would like to refer. Prime for Life is an evidence-based program with demonstrated success in significantly altering attitudes, increasing abstinence and reducing high-risk drinking and drug use from early teen years through adulthood.
Prime for Life is designed to change drinking and drug use behaviors by changing:
· Beliefs
· Attitudes
· Perception of risk
· Motivation
· Knowledge
Prime for Life is free of charge to students ages 12-18 in Northern Michigan by certified instructors. This substance use prevention program is offered twice a month and will be conducted virtually via ZOOM in two 2 ½ hour sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays ( second week of the month and fourth week of the month) two separate classes, 3:30-6:00 pm. Each student must be present and complete each of the 2 ½ hour sessions ( 5 hours total) to successfully complete the program. ( A class will only be held if we have a minimum of 3 youth participating- if required number of participants is not meet the youth will be placed in the next occurring class.)
To participate in the class, the student would need access to a computer with a camera and audio capability, as well as a Wifi connection to connect to Zoom.
